Michelle Perry’s Timeless FanFic

“Colt! They’re here!” I called
from the living room. He’s been upstairs with our daughter all morning. She’s
only three months old, but she has made a huge impact on our lives. I hear his
footsteps coming down the stairs with the sound of Maya squealing.
“There she is!” Nakari screeched
and ran over to pull her out of his arms.
“She’s getting bigger.”
Daniel said while looking at her with such a happy smile.
“I know” I smiled,
“she’s the light of my life.”
“What about me?” Colt asked
with a fake frown on his face.
I chuckled and said, “you now
come in second.”
The room erupted in laughter. It was
nice to have the family back. Callon and Nakari finally got married 4 months
ago. Daniel proposed to Bree last month and Maes and Andre are still going
strong. Dex and Lily weren’t arriving till late tomorrow. It was going to be
mine and Colt’s 1 year anniversary and before he surprises me with something,
we invite the family down for the next four days.
Living on the estate has been hard
since we haven’t seen them since Callon and Nakari’s wedding and before that
was mine. I’ve also picked up a bit of an accent living here while Colt hasn’t.
I still don’t understand how he does it. Callon’s phone started to ring so he
excused himself from the room and went out to the porch. I offered everyone
snacks and beverages when Callon came back in to the room with panic written
all over his face.
“Dex just called and said that
there’s a girl who collapsed in Lily’s garden. I’m so sorry Cheyenne, Colt, but
I have to go.”
“Well, why are you still standing
here, go!” Colt and I said in unison.
“There’s one more thing,”
Callon said ominously, “she keeps taking about Sahara and Qaysean.”
I stood there staring at him with a
shocked and confused expression. I didn’t know what to say so Colt said it for
me. “Cheyenne’s parents?”
Callon nodded, “How many Saharas
and Qayseans have you heard of?”
“I’m going too,” I finally
was able to say.
“We all are.” Bree chimed in.
Nakari and I ran upstairs in which I
went to my room and Nakari went to Maya’s room. We were back downstairs in our
cars in 15 minutes. The O’Shea family helicopter was waiting at the airport and
even though it was crammed we all managed to somehow fit. Soon enough we landed
close to Dex’s home and Daniel jumped Callon inside while the rest of us ran.
Lily saw all our concerned faces and
met us on the deck. She told us how she went out to her garden when she saw a
young girl who came stumbling in all banged up and bleeding who collapsed on
floor next to her. That’s when Dex called Callon and he’s been trying to keep
her still and try to relieve some of the pain, when Lily said that she was
going to call the police, but that made the girl panic and it was making her
injuries worse so she stopped.
We all went inside and sat around the
room waiting for Callon and Dex to come out and give us information about
what’s going on. The room was filled with silence since Maya had just been put
down for her afternoon nap back in Dex and Lily’s room as far away front the
commotion as possible.
About and an hour later Callon and
Dex came out and told us how her name is Alex, she was in a car accident and
ran to get away from it because the man who was her abusive foster father
caused the accident.
She has internal bruising, cuts and
scrapes in her face, arms, and legs, a broken ankle, a torn tendon on her knee,
that same knee is also dislocated, four cracked ribs, broken wrist, and broken
collarbone and some of that wasn’t from the car accident.
I couldn’t believe what I was hearing
this poor girl has been going through. The one question I had was how she knew
my parents. It didn’t make sense.
The next five days went by in blur,
we all took turns sitting with her for an hour at a time. If she started to
gain consciousness we would grab Dex or Callon to get her to go back to sleep,
they didn’t want her awake yet. I spent most of the time with her, wondering
what her story was and how she knew my parents. She couldn’t have been more
than 17 or 18, the thought that she could be Timeless popped in my head
multiple times throughout the days.
At the end of the week, Callon
decided to take her off the medicine keeping her asleep and by the afternoon
she started to come to. Callon and Dex said it was better if just the two of
them were in the room. I stood outside the room listening to the conversation.
“Alex, my name is Dex. And this
my friend Callon. How you feeling?”
“I’m okay.” Alex replied
with a quiet and scratchy voice. You could hear how much pain she was in.
“Where are you hurting
Alex?” Callon questioned.
“Everywhere. But I’ll manage.
Can I have some water?”
Now she didn’t sound in pain, she
sounded scarred. I peeked in and saw her drinking water while Dex check her
pulse and Callon checked her temperature.
“Can you tell us what
happened?” Dex asked.
“Yeah. After my parents were
murdered, I was moved into the foster system and the most recent home I was in
my foster father abused me while my foster mom, brother, and sister would just
stand there watching. He’s a drunk and the only way to get his anger out was to
beat up on me rather than his wife. So the other-” she cut herself off,
“how long have I been alseep?”
“A week,” Callon said.
“We’ve wanted to keep you asleep while you recovered.”
“Okay,” Alex continued with
her story. “So the night of the accident, he pulled me in his car. He was
super drunk so I refused to go in the car, but he forced me. So he took off
down the highway at night with no headlights on. I just sat on the seat hoping
that he didn’t crash. But he did. He swerved and my guess it was to avoid a car
and when he swerved he went off the road and flip the car a couple of times
before stopping.
“When I came too, he was pinned under
the steering wheel the side window was cracked open so I climbed through and
ran. I didn’t stop running till I found a house that could help. I saw a kind
looking women in a garden I ran straight for her and collapsed. She caught me
right before I hit the ground thankfully. When she was told to call the cops I
panic Cuz they would know that I’m a foster kid and they’ll send my right back
there for the last two months of me being 17. I couldn’t go back there.
“I’m sorry if they complicates things
for you. But I just need to be away for the next two months, just till I turn
18 please. Please don’t make me go back there to them!”
“We won’t.” Dex said.
“You need to get better first
too.” Callon said. “We’ll let you rest for awhile, I’ll come back and
check on you.” I heard Callon say.
That was my cue to run off before
they saw so I ran in the room where Maya was sleeping.
Dex found me and sat next me.
“She’s doing much better. By
tomorrow I hope she’ll tell us what she knows about your parents.” He
started towards the door but turned around, “you know you and Colt can go
on your anniversary trip. You don’t need to stay here. Lily and I will gladly
watch over Maya for you.”
“Thanks for the offer Dex, but I
can’t leave yet. Not till I know.”
He nodded and walked out. I waited a
few minutes and walked out too. As I passed by the room where Alex was I poked
my head to see if she was awake and she wasn’t. I continued down the stairs to
the living room.
Everyone was busy playing games,
watching them, or eating. Colt noticed me when I came in and got up to come
over to me.
“I’m sorry, I plans changed.
I’ll make it up to you, I promise.” He said.
“I know. I just want to know
what she knows about my parents.”
He smiled, grabbed my hand, and led
to my to the love seat where we sat next to each other. I watched everyone
having a great time. Daniel, Bree, Nakari, and Maes are playing poker while
Andre was watching Maes get creamed by Daniel. Lily sat in the corner drinking
tea with Dex by her side and Callon was in kitchen putting something together.
Callon walked by with a bowl of soup
and said, “Cheyenne I’m going to go check on Alex, would you like to come.
I think it’s time she told us.”
I nodded, got up, and followed. When
Callon opened the door, Alex was awake, sitting up and looking around the room.
She smiled when he walked in, but then she saw me and shocked ran over her
face. I froze and I didn’t know if I should keep going.
“C’mom, you can come in
Cheyenne.” Callon said, “Alex this is Cheyenne, my
sister-in-law.”
“Hi, Alex, it’s nice to meet
you.” “Likewise.” She said.
I went to go sit over in a chair at
the end of the bed while I let Callon take over.
“How are you feeling?” Dr.
Callon was back in full swing.
“Fine, still really sore. My
knee and ankle hurt the worse.” She said with pain in her voice.
Callon checked her ankle, knee, and
anywhere else where she was in pain. Once he was done, he asked “we have
another question we need to ask.”
“Okay” she replied
hesitantly.
“How do you know Sahara and
Qaysean?” I jumped in before Callon could say anything else.
She looked back and forth between us
and sighed.
“The reason why I looked so
shocked when you walked in here was because you look just like her.”
“Who?” I asked. She was
hesitant to reply, “you look just like Sahara,” she looked at Callon
then me again, “just like my mother.”
